All measurements are nominal. Wear layer refers to top thickness prior to treatment; wire-brushing may marginally affect it. Boxes are fixed in length and material arrives with some random-length starter boards.

Why hardwood over plastic

Grown, not manufactured
Hardwood is a renewable material. 1,000 sq ft of vinyl flooring carries roughly the plastic of half a million straws — plastic that outlasts the floor by thousands of years.

It biodegrades
Plastic flooring spends a few years in your home and then centuries in a landfill. Wood does not.

“Waterproof” is marketing
Water that gets past a plastic floor still reaches the subfloor. Once that happens you are looking at mold and a full replacement, not a repair.

It is wood, not a picture of wood
Print repeats. Grain does not. Up close, the difference between a photographed surface and an actual one is obvious.

It can be refinished
Dents and scratches in hardwood get sanded out. In plastic they get replaced. Over twenty years that is a different number entirely.
Installation
These floors arrive finished from the factory and need no surface treatment after installation. We can arrange professional installation across Greater Boston — tell us about the project and we will line it up.
Warranty
Improper installation, or the use of improper products or cleaning methods, voids the warranty. If you are unsure what a surface can take, ask us before you apply anything to it.
